After the Pulwama Incident, Total Dhamaal was stopped from releasing in Pakistan. Ajay Devgn had announced on Twitter last week that in the light of recent events, he will not be releasing Total Dhamaal in Pakistan.
Since then tensions have heightened between the two countries and no new contract is being signed for any Indian film in Pakistan. Luka Chuppi which opens coming Friday isn’t releasing here either. Dinesh Vijan, the producer of the film never had a contract for that film and yet he announced on social media that he will be terminating the ‘pseudo’ contract.
With no contract of any upcoming Indian film being signed in Pakistan, it puts a huge question mark on the release of the much awaited upcoming film of Salman Khan i.e. Bharat. Salman Khan is easily one of the biggest stars at the boxoffice in Pakistan and if the film doesn’t make its way to Pakistan then it will be a minimum loss of 10 crores INR to the makers back in India.
Pakistani market won’t feel heat as Eid has two major local films lined up for release i.e. The Legend Of Maula Jatt and Wrong No. 2. But if Bharat doesn’t see a release in Pakistan then it will cost the Overseas distributor of Bharat, a huge amount of money. It will be interesting to see what future holds of Bharat in Pakistan and also other Hindi films.
