After a sabbatical of multiple weeks, Pakistani cinema is all set to see its first fresh releases of the year over Pakistan Day Weekend. Pakistan Day is a national Holiday and is falling on Saturday. This gives a fantastic opportunity to the two major releases coming on 22nd March to benefit from the Holiday weekend.
One of these is ARY Film’s SherDil. Starring Mikaal Zulfiqar, Armeena Khan and Hassan Niazi, the film is based on Pakistan Air Force. This film will not only benefit from the Weekend but its content is very much relevant to the current situation between India and Pakistan. The film has been helmed by Azfar Jaffri and it has been receiving a good response on it’s teaser and trailer.
The other film to hit screens will be Footrpint distributed Laal Kabootar. Ahmad Ali Akbar and Mansha Pasha will be making their film debut in Laal Kabootar. The crime thriller banks upon unique content while its storytelling style is entirely different from ARY’s SherDil.
Both the films are vastly different from each other and this gives our cinegoers diverse options to choose from. One is an all out patriotic film with relevance to the current situation whereas the other is a romantic thriller starring a fresh cast.
