Nadeem Baig directorial drama Meray Pass Tum Ho is making waves at Epk popularity charts. The audiences seem to be loving the content of the Ayeza Khan, Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddique starrer. The drama has been written by Khalil ur Rehman Qamar who has previously written blockbuster play like Pyarey Afzal and feature film Punjab Nahe Jaunge for Nadeem Baig and Six Sigma.
The drama has a somewhat unconventional female protagonist hence raising questions. People are raising questions on social media about the portrayal of Ayeza Khan. The actress is well set in her avatar and we love her portrayal of Mehwish.
Ayeza Khan is a known face of drama industry and after playing the “Naik Parveen” in numerous dramas, the actress was recently seen playing a negative role in Yaariyan. With Meray Pass Tum Ho’s Mehwish she is being seen in a negative as well as an unorthodox avatar. However the actress is carrying the character with grace, and fulfilling the requirements of the character well enough to make her portrayal spot on. Audience have turned out to be more accepting in case of Ayeza diversifying her niche and doing versatile roles.
Interestingly enough another actress was approached for this role as well. As per our credible sources, actress Sonya Hussyn was approached for the role of Mehwish in Meray Pass Tum Ho. The Ishq Zahe Naseeb actress declined the role terming it to be highly negative portrayal of women. It seems that the actress was hesitant to do the role as it would garner a lot of backlash from the audiences, which to some extent did happen.
However, the criticism has been on the “hard to digest” characterization of Mehwish and not the acting skills of Ayeza. The characterization of Mehwish is controversial and the drama through her character has tapped into a rather bold and out of the box story. It was risky yet the role offers a lot of margin to the actor. In fact some out of the box characters turn out to be larger than life, and a defining moment for an actor.
We reached out to the director of Meray Pass Tum Ho for a comment on the matter. However they refrained from commenting on the matter. On work front, Sonya Hussyn will be seen on silver screen soon in feature film Tich Button whose last spell is going to be shot in November.
