The versatile actor and singer Junaid Khan seems to be busy in quite a lot of projects these days. The actor is balancing his passion for singing alongside acting as he recently collaborated with Indian Rock Band Spunk for “Talaash”. The actor is also playing the lead in a drama serial Kam Zarf alongside Rubab Hashim and Nadia Khan.
Junaid Khan has previously done several memorable dramas where he has played the lead as the hero or done semi negative roles. However for the first time, the dashing actor will be seen as an antagonist in his upcoming drama, “Hania”. The drama features him in a dark persona of an abusive husband. His wife’s character will be essayed by Zoya Nasir.
While talking to the media
about his character, Khan said, “I want to challenge myself in every role I
choose, “Hania” is a new turn as I have never played a character that has no
grey shades but is completely and blatantly dark and aggressive, with motives
that match his personality.”
Khan added by saying, “The
story of “Hania” also highlights a common problem that’s deeply rooted in our
society, with the girl’s parents not asking about family history and only see a
family’s wealth when they are marrying their daughters off. This is actually
turning out to be a major issue that needs to be addressed.”
The drama is directed by Qasim Ali Mureed and written by Door Way entertainment. The cast members include Osama Tahir, Tanvir Jamal, Marium Mirza, Ghana Ali, Wasim Abbas, Fordous Jamal and Hassan Ahmed.
The drama has recently released its teasers and it looks like this will be another bold drama tackling a sensitive issue. We see the character of Hania suffer as she is mistreated by both her husband and father-in-law. Her father-in-law in particular appears to be the most disgusting character of the play as he has has his eyes on his daughter-in-law. His fishy character instantly puts us in a bad mood.
He seems to be finding ways of harassing Hania as the girl hides and seeks salvation. In addition it appears her husband will also make her life difficult by his obnoxious behavior. He will also not support her thereby leaving her at her father-in-law’s mercy.
