Going by the trailer, the story picks from where it ended in Avengers: Endgame. Starring Tom Holland as Spider Man, its the last film in the MCU Phase 3
We will be able to know the slot of the films of Phase 4 after the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Other than Tom Holland, the trailer shew us Jake Gyllenhaal in the character of Mysterio. Furthermore, the trailer also revealed the possibility of the concept of Multiverse when Mysterio claims he is from multiverse i.e. another similar universe.
The idea of multiverse has excited the fans and many theories are coming up claiming that this idea could eventually lead us to point where X Men will join Avengers. But the writers of Avengers: Endgame recently gave a statement which indicates that multiverse might not be happening.
Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the writers of Avengers: Endgame and Infinity War spoke about multiverse in the recent interview to The Hollywood Reporter. They were asked, “Thanks to the new Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer, we know there are now multiverses for Marvel to play with.” And McFeely replied, “Do we, that’s the thing, consider your source”. McFeely hinted that it’s Mysterio who gives the idea of multiverse in the trailer and he can’t be trusted as source.
So does this mean that Marvel is trying to play a trick here with the mention of multiverse in the trailer. Well we will be able to know i in coming days as Spider Far From Home releases in the cinemas worldwide on 2nd July, 2019.
