Shameless Proposals

Sadia Jabbar Productions is one of the inventive houses of our Industry. It has given us a fine amount of hit dramas such as ‘Mera Naam Yousaf Hai’, ‘Mere Bewafa’ and ‘Ghamand’. After giving many hit dramas and a critically acclaimed film ‘Balu Mahi’, the team is ready to start the trend of web series in Pakistan. The content of web series is bold as compared to dramas. Issues that we cannot discuss and portray in dramas can be narrated through a digital medium.

It is not wrong to say that the web series is the future of the entertainment industry. Sadia Jabbar owner of Sadia Jabbar Productions shared her views on producing Pakistan’s first web series, “Television and films are mainly a platform for families but web series gives you the power of standing up and voicing your opinion or highlighting the evils of society through entertainment and to not only change how entertainment is seen but also how it is perceived”.

Name of the web series is ‘Shameless Proposals’ which is going to be produced by BVC media: an international media company. Saji Gul and Atlas have written its script while Hunny Haroon is going to direct it.

Co-producer of the project Tehseen Shaukat shared the reason of making the web series, “The medium of web entertainment is still untapped in Pakistan, although it has been gaining popularity all over the world, the audience can be classified as a niche but holds immense potential to make your voice heard”.

‘Shameless Proposals’ is going to highlight the important issue of arranged marriages. In the present era girls are becoming independent to some extent and selecting a life partner must be her decision, we should not force girls to marry according to someone else’s will.
