Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh has emerged a monstrous hit at domestic market. Despite cricket fever, the film is rewriting the rules of boxoffice in India. Kabir Singh has grossed a thumping INR 2.49bn in 22 days from India and is arleady highest grossing Hindi film of 2019 in India beating Salman Khan’s Bharat.
Shahid Kapoor starrer had amazing trending over the Weeks despite having cricket fever gripping whole India. Kabir Singh had grossed INR 1.33bn in opening week in India and then it went on to bring in huge INR 782m in week two. Kabir Singh has already become highest grossing solo release of Shahid Kapoor by leaps and bounds and soon it will be overtaking Padmaavat to become highest grossing Shahid Kapoor multistarrer release.
Kabir Singh has also contributed over $ 5m from Overseas which doesn’t justify the monstrous domestic collections of the film. The film has performed best in North America where Kabir Singh has added over $2m till now.
The film didn’t see release in Pakistan and that has costed the film atleast $ 1.5m gross from overseas markets. The film had all flavors to be a monstrous HIT but film didn’t get a release in Pakistan due to temporary ban on Indian films in Pakistan.
