Our Yakeen Ka Safar and Aangan favorites are coming back together on screen with Yeh Dil Mera, and we can’t compose our excitement. Directed by Suno Chanda’s Aehsun Talish and written by Farhat Ishtiaq, the drama seems like a breath of fresh air. We don’t particularly love cliché but considering typical saas bahu narrow minded content, that is choking up the drama stream nowadays, we can’t help appreciate few breathers coming our way. Our hopes are high with Yeh Dil Mera, and anticipate that it is joining the league of quality content like Alif, Ehd E Wafa and Ishq Zahe Naseeb.
With the drama beginning on Wednesday, the promos have us supremely excited. The initial promos showed a lighter side of the drama with the protagonist placed in a modern day workplace environment. Starting off with a dislike towards each other, to transitioning into budding romance, it seemed like a romantic love story with some pieces intentionally taken out to mislead the audience. Not sure what to make of it, but intrigued enough to an extent to start a debate on what the drama is about.
The witty one liners and banter between the two was entertaining to watch and did leave us wanting to see more. Sajal’s wardrobe as an intern stepping into corporate world is spot on. The must have eastern white dress, perfect for interview look, to her chic pant suit and blazers, complemented with perfectly done curls with just the right amount of accessories, is something every newbie professional can relate to. Her looks have our hearts. Sajal tends to adopt every new avatar she plays very well and adds her own touch to it. We are loving her as Momina Sultan and what is exciting is the fact that Noor-ul-Ain seems to be a complete opposite role.
The dapper hero is checking all the right boxes as well, as the boss slightly infatuated by the new pretty intern. Ahad’s Armaan has something new to offer than his Ehd-e-Wafa’s Saad. Again the versatility and diversity that he will be bringing for the audiences with this avatar is what I look forward to. Sensing there is more than meets the eye we decided to sit back and keep the promos coming. Turns out it was sensible not to be too quick to judge. Viewing the numerous promos paid off.
The drama is more than modern day workplace romance, and looks like it has a deep seeded mystery at the heart of the plot. The following teasers have a thrill combined with some horror elements. Beside Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir, Yeh Dil Mera promos also show versatile actor Adnan Siddique and the lovely Zarnish Khan. While Zarnish is playing Ahad’s mother whom he lost as a child. Adnan Siddique is playing Sajal’s father, the teasers do not reveal much, leaving a mystery around his character. We are curious to see whether the Meray Pass Tum Ho antagonist is playing a positive or negative role in this one!
The MD Production has an impressive cast on board, which also includes Mira Sethi, Farhan Ali Agha, Paras Masroor Badvi,Rabia Butt and we look forward to seeing how they all fit into the story. We can go on and on about the teasers as there is so much to talk about. However, to sum up, at first glance this is what Yeh Dil Mera is all about. Armaan and Noor-ul-Ain both seem to have a troubling childhood which will come back to haunt them. What will be interesting to see is how their demons, that were thought to be buried a long time ago, will resurface? What are they and how these two characters are connected?
Our take away from the teasers is that Yeh Dil Mera has an engaging story in store for the audiences. The visuals of the drama are also astounding with parts of the drama shot in Northern Pakistan. The characters seem to be well thought out and great attention has been given in terms of wardrobe and overall development of the character. The credit for which will go to the director and writer as well as the producers. The ensemble cast also looks well set in their avatars, and we are ready to see what each individual actor has to offer with their avatar.
