Ranjha Ranjha Kardi and Cheekh are easily the most popular Pakistani dramas on air right now. Both the dramas are loved by viewers for various reasons. Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is getting raving reviews for iconic performance of Imran Ashraf as Bhola.
Ranjha Ranjha Kardi is 24 episodes in already and comprises of solid content. Other than super strong performance of Imran Ashraf, direction of drama is splendid. Dialogues written by Faiza Iftikhar are soulful. Drama’s pace could have been better but drama’s soul rests in the powerful dialogues and fantastic detailing in every scene by director by Kashif Nisar.
The drama raises some societal evils that are very prevalent yet often hushed. One such issue that has been very subtly depicted in the drama is the issue of marital rape. Although many may argue that in case of Ranjha Ranjha Bhola is not to blame as he is mentally challenged, the fact that issue is raised itself is important.
Many have misconception about this issue and many rule off this as the right of the husband and not rape. The way the director has shown small details in every scenes speaks of his hold over the script.
Cheekh on other end is no less. Drama is one of its kind and is the most unique drama on air right now. Drama deals with murder mystery and urges you to raise voice for justice. Drama does look inspired from 1993’s Bollywood film Damini. But the team of Cheekh has done mind blowing job. Director Badar Mehmood has made it a perfect edge of the seat thriller.
Every scene is intense and leaves you wanting for more. The clashes of characters are so brilliantly written that we are left in the awe. Performances of every character stands out especially Bilal Abbas Khan. Pacing of drama is fantastic and with every Episode our curiosity piques.
