The fifth season of Nescafe Basement took off recently and some songs have been noticed instantly. One such track “Mehbooba” has been going around the internet ever since it got released. The song follows immense nostalgia. The song was a super hit back in the day by renowned singer Haroon. The music video was very eye catching as well, and every time the song came on we would be glued to the television to have a listen.
Mehbooba featuring Ali Asghar, Ali Tariq and Hamza Tanveer is definitely different than the original. The first thing that is noticeable is the music. While the original song had an upbeat lively tone, the rendition has toned it down a bit. Even though the music is not upbeat what really stands out the fusion of all different instruments. The music is an amalgamation of saxophone, drums, violin, bass, percussion and rubab . Also the clapping in the middle of the song is fun. Kudos to the child drummer Sinan Salman who doesn’t miss a beat.
The musician have received a major pat on the back by the original artist himself. That’s right Haroon himself took it to Twitter to appreciate the remake, which speaks volumes about the song!
It is so refreshing to see a diverse set of musician get together to make a legendary song. After listening to the song after so long, the tune stay with you for some time. Unlike many recent remake this version turns out to a pleasant one!
Let us know what you think of the song in comparison to the original?
