We have approached the weekend so it is about time that we help you get your weekend plans in order! Like last week this weekend will see releases of multiple movies. So you have lots of options to pick from!

New Releases


Originally titled Cheat India, Emraan Hashmi starrer Cheat follows the story of a fraud who takes money from rich students and pays intelligent students to take their exam. The film’s music is good and the actress opposite Emraan is a fresh face Shreyea Dhewantaray.

2. The Accidental Prime Minister

The movie is based on a book with the same name, written by former Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s media adviser Sanjaya Baru. The biopic stars Anumpam Kher and Akhshay Khana.

3.Kaka Ji

Kaka Ji is a Punjabi film and is based in the 90s era in Punjab when the notorious gang Kale Kachia Wale was dominant in the state. Kaka Ji, the son of royal Sardar Kartar Singh Brar falls in love with Deepi, a young girl from the adjacent village. Things take a turn when Kaka Ji gets trapped by the gang while trying to save the love of his life. The film stars Lucky Dhaliwal, Dev Kharoud, Aarushi Sharma.

4. Fraud Saiyaan

Fraud Saiyaan is a comedy following the life of a fraud who scams women into marrying him for money. He marries several women in various cities until he gets caught up in his own trap. The movie will see Pakistani actress Sara Loren along side Arshad Warsi.

5. Glass

M. Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of two of his standout originals Unbreakable and Split. Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn(Samuel L Jackson) pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men. Joining the all-star cast are Unbreakable’s Spencer Treat Clark and Charlayne Woodard, who reprise their roles as Dunn’s son and Price’s mother, as well as Sarah Paulson.

6. How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World

Join Hiccup and his dragon Toothless for one last adventure! This one is suitable for all ages and definitely a treat for children.

Now chief and ruler of Berk alongside Astrid, Hiccup has created a gloriously chaotic dragon utopia. When the sudden appearance of female Light Fury coincides with the darkest threat their village has ever faced, Hiccup and Toothless must leave the only home they’ve known and journey to a hidden world thought only to exist in myths. As their true destines are revealed, dragon and rider will fight together—to the very ends of the Earth—to protect everything they’ve grown to treasure. Directed by Dean DeBlois and produced by Brad Lewis and Bonnie Arnold. The cast includes Kit Harrington, Jay Barachuel, Cate Blancheet, America Ferrera, Gerard Butler.

7. 122

122 is an Egyptian film that has been dubbed into Urdu and will be releasing this weekend. The film is a thriller showing a couple a young man and his beloved are struggling not to reach the hospital, but to run away from it. They are trying to survive the night.

The week that was…..

Movies that have been running in cinemas from previous weeks includes:


The Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba has been getting great response from the audience. The story is about a bad cop that transitions into good cop after someone close to him gets raped. The movie is a remake of a South Indian film and also stars the gorgeous Sara Ali Khan. It has maintained a strong hold in terms of box office collection as well.

SRK starrer Zero took off very well however after release of Simmba its business took a hit. The film has been met harshly with critics as well. The fillm is about a vertically challenged man and a scientist with cerebral palsy(played by Anushaka Sharma)

3. Aquaman

Aquaman is a DC comic movie that centers around Aquaman the son of the land and sea. He is approached by a women from the sea that informs him that his half brother is about to declare war on land. She tries to convince him to claim his place as King.

Bumblebee is a spin-off of Transformers and takes place in 1987. It stars Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena. This is a PG 13 movie and can be enjoyed by children and adults both. The film has been doing pretty well and it is probably going to be its last week of running.

5.Mary Poppins Returns

The classic Mary Poppins has gotten a remake as Mary Poppins Returns. The film was released last week in Pakistan. Emily Blunt is playing Mary Poppin in the new version. The movie is essentially a children’s movie and is full of fantasy and imagination. If you are looking for something new for you children this could be a good choice.


Gumm will be the first Pakistani film of the year 2019, and we hope it does wonders at the box-office. The Sami Khan starrer action thriller  brings together a most wanted criminal and a father with an ill child in the middle of the forest. What got them there and what will happen, how will the story unfold, the trailer has got us intrigued. The film has not been well received.

7. Jackpot

Shoaib Khan’s Jackpot is re-releasing this weekend. The film was initally released with Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju due to which the its business was being affected. The film is a romantic comedy starring Noor Hassan, Sanam Chaudhry and Javed Sheikh. This movie also hasn’t done much at box office.

8. KGF Chapter 1

Originally the film was supposed to release simultaneously with India but due to release of major films like Zero and Simmba its release was pushed to 10 Jan. The trailer looks very interesting and it has gotten really good reviews in India.

9.Instant Family

Mark Walberg and Rose Byrne starrer Instant Family is a American comedy that revolves around a couple who decide to adopt three children. They have to learn the art of parenting and endure hilarious encounters while doing so. The film was released world wide in November, however it is releasing here just now.

10. Escape room

Escape room is a drama/mystery movie that brings together a couple of strangers in an escape room that turns out to be extremely deadly. They must solve the puzzle to live or else die. If you are looking for some nail biting thriller this could be it!
