With two new dramas Hania and Mera Rab Waris as well as the well-received Aangan, we have gradually become obsessed with Thursday dramas as a whole! Drastically different from each other, the three dramas have gotten a lot of traction everywhere and are worth the hype as well! Read on to know more about these dramas.

Aangan (Hum Tv) MD Productions
This week we saw the episode cover the love triangle between Chammi, Jamil and Alia as each individual reacted differently to the situation surrounding them. Chammi’s seemed the most heartfelt and her character as always ended up being the favorite overall. While previously she had remained blissfully oblivious, she starts to suspect that Jamil and Alia were both in love with each other, and her insecurities jump out specially in the dialogue scene she has with Alia.

Alia of course is confused about why Chammi has started behaving in that way with her since Chammi had been someone Alia could rely on in this new alien environment. For some reason Jamil is completely ignorant of the divide he has caused and professes his love to Alia, leaving the latter more confused than before.

Jamil’s character has suddenly become the most hated one out of all since he really doesn’t show any sign of selflessness or tact when dealing with others. Daddi’s death was the one sad part of this episode but otherwise it focused on the pointless love cycle between these three characters. At the start this had been a novelty but now has become tiresome and directionless and the makers of the show really need to start giving clear signs of where they intend the drama’s story to go.
Hania (ARY) Six Sigma Production
This drama has wasted no time indeed in jumping right into the climax of the plot. When Hania comes back from meeting with her father who had been ill, she is faced with Junaid who hits her mercilessly for not obeying his orders. Hania’s sister Myra sees this all happen and goes home to report all of this to Hania’s parents.
Hania’s father goes to Junaid’s parents to confront them about this but Hania is manipulated by Junaid into telling her father that all was fine. When her father leaves still suspicious, Junaid locks Hania up in a room as punishment. Meanwhile, Hania’s father goes to his brother Fareed to ask for help and Fareed decides to take legal action against Junaid’s family.

It will be interesting to see what happens next considering how influential Junaid is; will any legal action save Hania or is she stuck with this fate forever? It definitely is a thrilling idea for a script and has been delivered well, but sometimes the scenes seem disingenuous and forced at times for the viewer. There is definitely no flaw in the dialogue but maybe it’s due to how fast things are happening that it seems a bit too forced, like the scene in which Junaid’s mother hits Hania. Another flaw is the fact that characters like Junaid’s parents are pretty hollow and don’t have depth at all. Other than these few things, I think Hania is pretty okay in comparison to other dramas.

Mera Rab Waris (Geo Tv) 7th Sky Entertainment
A raging success already, Mera Rab Waris developed further this week. Haris’ mother and sister are hell bent on having him marry Nadia, the girl they picked for him. But after being rude to her, Nadia refuses to marry Haris. Meanwhile, Haris’ close friend Ayela confesses to him that she loves him and even though Haris shows no signs of reciprocated feelings towards her, his mother and sister Kinza like Ayela and decide that perhaps she would be a good fit for Haris.

In all this, Haris’ father remains quiet since his choice, Ayesha, is someone the rest of the family does not like. Ayesha, after not hearing any news, is saddened and disappointed in herself for falling for someone she didn’t even know so easily. It is obvious that Ayesha’s hopes had been up about Haris and now she is suddenly shook by the rejection.

However, the positive and hearty Ayesha moves on and forgets. The gradual building up of the plot is done very well in Mera Rab Waris and the writers must be given their due credits for this. In all aspects, the drama has been above average for now and is definitely one drama we would continue watching in the future!
Mera Rab Waris has become all the rage nowadays with rising popularity and we can see why! Besides its story which is simple yet effective and heart-touching simultaneously, Mera Rab Waris has beautiful visuals and talented actors pushing it forward. Hania and Aangan are also amidst my favorite picks but Mera Rab Waris is one that one would personally watch again as well!
