The Legend Of Maula Jatt Boxoffice: Is making 100 crore possible or unrealistic?

Bahoo Films cooperation has long been indulged in a legal battle with The makers of The Legend of Maula Jatt. Sarwar Bhatti claimed a violation of his copyrights and was hit back by The makers of The Legend of Maula Jatt for defamation.

The last hearing was held on 18th March at the Lahore High Court. The court ordered that the team of The Legend Of Maula Jatt cannot use title, dialogues, characters, style and music without authorization.

Ahsan Masood, Sarwar Bhatti’s counsel stated that according to court, no one can use the rights of Maula Jatt without authorization.

Neutral lawyers claimed that while the court has said that the rights can not be used without authorization however it is unclear who holds the rights of the aforementioned particulars.

Upon asking Bilal Lashari’s counsel Ahmed Pansota, we were told that there is no restriction on the release on the Legend of Maula Jatt. The next hearing will be held on 6th June while the film will see release on 4th June.

Following this, Intellectual property organization of Pakistan (IPO) has issued a notice to Bahoo films replying that the Trade Mark application from the other party has been refused for registration. The Legend of Maula Jatt can not use this title for their film and this surely puts the upcoming film in trouble.

Epk received the letter from Bahoo Films on 26th March however we held the letter as we are a responsible platform and we believe in sharing both sides of the story. However, despite our continuous attempts, we have been unable to reach Ammara Hikmat, Bilal Lashari or their counsel, Ahmed Pansota.
