This time, Epk got a hold of the illustrious film director Masood Butt and asked him to share which Punjabi films have been his all time favorite!

Masood Butt gave his first film in 1977 titled ‘2 Chor’ which was a hit. The esteemed director has since given several blockbusters. He is prominently known for films such as Jungle Ka Qanoon, Madame Rani, Phoolan Devi and Qaidi. His super hit films include Dara Baloch, Allah Rakha, Nikki Jei Haan, Madam Rani, Jagga and others.

Heer Ranjha

Heer Ranjha was a super hit in 1970. The film starred Firdous and Ejaz in lead roles. It was directed by Masud Pervaiz.


Majajan released in 2006. The super hit film starred Shaan Shahid, Saima, Madiha Shah and Saud. This was a blockbuster film termed the greatest musical film of the decade. It was directed by Syed Noor.

Niki Jei Haan

Nikki Jei Haan was a super hit film in 1999 released on Eid-ul-Azha. The film starred Saima, Moamar Rana, Saud, Reema, Shafqat Cheema and others. It was Masood Butt’s own directorial.

Sakhi Badshah

Directed by Masood Butt himself, this film was released few weeks after Sultan Rahi’s death and got a huge reception at the box office. It starred Sultan Rahi, Saima, Reema, Izhar Qazi, Neeli, Ghulam Mohayuddin, Humayun Qureshi, Bahar, Anwar Khan and others.

Naukar Wohti Da

The 1974 super hit, Naukar Wohti Da starred Munawar Zarif, Asiya, Mumtaz, Afzaal Ahmad, Talish and others. Directed by Haider Chauhdry, the film was later remade in India as Naukar Biwi Ka.
