Brad Pitt starrer sci-fi Ad Astra is just couple of weeks away from its theatrical release. The film had its premiere at Venice Film festival and has gotten amazing reviews from critics. Ad Astra is carrying 83% score at Rotten Tomatoes right now from 23 critics whereas meta critic score stands at an amazing 81%.
Majority of top critics have showered praises for Ad Astra. Justin Chang from Los Angeles times said, ” Somber, stirring, ridiculous and just shy of sublime.” David Ehrlich from Indiewire gave it an “A” score and stated, ” One of the most ruminative, withdrawn, and curiously optimistic space odysseys this side of “Solaris.“
Furthermore, Philip De Semlyen from Time Out gave it 4 stars out of 5 and said, ” It’s often thrilling, occasionally improbable, sometimes confounding, but like its director, ‘Ad Astra’ is never bound by the gravitational pull of the ordinary.”
Sheri linden from Hollywood Reporter praised the film by saying, ” Pitt is working the minor keys to sublime effect … But while less is more for the actor, that’s not necessarily the case for the movie.”
Xan Brooks from Guardian gave the film a full five stars out of five and stated, “It’s an extraordinary picture, steely and unbending and assembled with an unmistakable air of wild-eyed zealotry.”
