Aitzaz Hasan embraced martyrdom. He was a brave 15 year old who sacrificed his life to save his classmates. He successfully prevented a suicide bomber from entering his school consisting of 2000 students in the village of Hangu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The courageous boy lost his life doing so but continues to live in our hearts. Director Shahzad Rafique paid tribute to the young hero by making a biopic on him in 2016.

The biopic was released with the name of “Salute” and was highly appreciated by the government. Government of Punjab screened the film in all the state run universities and colleges of Punjab as part of their national action plan against terrorism.

Today is the death anniversary of Shaheed Aitzaz Hasan. On the occasion,Salakhain director Shahzad Rafique expressed his immense pleasure on the re-release of his film in cinemas today which marks the 6th anniversary of Aitaz Hasan.

Oscar winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy also lauded the teenager Aitzaz Hasan and paid homage to him through a short film made on his heroic martyrdom under the SOC banner. SOC consists of animated series full of Pakistani real life heroes.
