Zindagi Tamasha’s release has become uncertain as a religious group is openly opposing the film. On popular show Bol Nights with Ahsan Khan, director Sarmad Khoosat opened up about the resistance he is facing on his film Zindagi Tamasha.
“Since it is a bearded man’s story, so people assumed its a Molvi Saab’s story. For the record, I want to clarify that this is a human’s story. And even if it seems to them that it is a Molvi’s story, so why cant it be a story about a good Molvi? They have taken a sentence from here and there, out of context from the trailer and they are resisting it based on assumptions!” He said.
Despite clearing the censors twice, censor boards have now advised Sarmad to not release the film. They said that the release of the film will inevitably cause unrest within the religious segment of the country and may prove to be detrimental to the peaceful circumstances of the country.
Zindagi Tamasha was scheduled for release on 25th January. As per our sources, the ministries involved are now delaying the film because T20 cricket matches between Bangladesh and Pakistan are scheduled to take place on 24th and 25th in Lahore.
The ministry does not want any demonstrations to take place as many foreigners will be visiting the country. As per our sources, this might be the reason why the ministry believes it is essential for the film’s release to be delayed. The protests which would have followed the release of the film would certainly paint a bad image of Pakistan and might have frightened foreigners.
