Epk reached out to the composer of the popular OST and had a little chat with him!
What were the challenges you faced in the making of Mere Paas Tum Ho’s OST?
“Khalil ur Rehman Qamar penned down the lyrics of this OST and he is very strict about his writings. Therefore, we were not allowed to make minor changes or move the stanzas even a little. It was hence very difficult to work on on the OST of Mere Paas Tum Ho. We had to replicate the feelings Khalil ur Rehman wanted in the song.
Then there was Nadeem Baig’s briefing as well. He guided me on how it should be done. Humayun Saeed also offered his support. This was my first project with Humayun Saeed and Nadeem Baig. We put in our best in the OST and we completed the song in about 10-15 days. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sung the song beautifully.
Khalil ur Rehman Qamar tends to get deeply involved in his projects, how was your experience of working with him?
This was not my first experience with Khalil ur Rehman. I have worked with him many times. I worked on his film as well. I think I was very fortunate enough to work with him under his guidance. Yes, he does tend to remain vert strict about his work and tends to be short tempered however, it was a good experience.
