EPK weekend movie picks movies this friday

This Weekend has something special in store for the local audiences. While there are no new international releases there is still something coming to cinemas this Friday. This is your chance to walk down memory lane and watch your favorite blockbuster on the big screen once more! This will be the Weekend of Re-runs!

1.Teefa In Trouble

Our very own Teefa is coming back once again to grace the screens. Teefa In Trouble starring Ali Zafar and Maya Ali became talk of the town when it was released last year in summers. The film had a successful running at the box office locally and internationally. Seven Months afters its release the film is making its way back to cinemas. You can catch the film again in select Theaters like Universal Cinemas and Cinepax.

2. Parwaaz Hai Junoon

The super hit Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Amir and Ahad Raza Mir starrer is also coming back on screens. If you want to catch it again be sure to head to the cinemas this weekend!

3. Jawani Phir Nahe Ani 2

The star studded block buster comedy flick is also gracing the screens once again. So if you are in mood for some comical and entertaining hours this movie is your best bet!

4. Dead pool 2

On the Hollywood end there are no new releases, however some movies are coming back for re-runs as well. Ryan Reynold starrer Deadpool 2 is making its way back for a re-release. Initially it was released in May just a little before Ramazan so the movie did not get exceptional reception. The movie is Rated R for some explicit language.

5. Bohemia Rhapsody

The Oscar nominated biopic on the legendary band “Queen” is also coming back. Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury is spectacular. The film has been extremely well received and is definitely a must watch!

5. A Quiet Place

A Quiet Place is a modern horror thriller about a family of four who must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound. The film stars the real life husband and wife duo John Kransinski and Emily Blunt. The film has received 8.2 out of 10 on Rotten Tomatoes.

So if you are on the look out for some nail biting super intense suspense thriller film this is it!

The Week That Was….

There are a couple of movies being carried over from previous weeks that can also be checked out!

1.Cold Pursuit

The Taken hero Liam Neeson is back this time as a snow plow driver who is out to avenge the murder of his son who he believes was a drug syndicate. If you are looking for some action packed film is a good choice.

2.Happy Death Day 2 U

This one is a comedy,horror, thriller movie is where the protagonist Tree Gelbman (Rothe) discovers that dying over and over was surprisingly easier than the dangers that lie ahead. The trailer shows twisted set of events and it is unclear if the movie will have a solid plot or not. But if you are thriller buff this 1 hour 40 minutes movie could be worth checking out. 

3. Alita Battle Angel

Directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron  this film has not done wonders at the box office so far, owing to flawed screenplay. Having said that the heavy budgeted Sci-fi action film is a visual treat! The film has been receiving standard response at the box office so far and it hasn’t been the best work of James Cameron.

4. How to Train Your Dragon : The Hidden World

Dreamworks’ animation has been doing decent collection considering the limited number of shows given to the film. The movie was released in Pakistan a month before its release in North America. The film is releasing in US this weekend. It can be expected that the film will pick up some buzz in Pakistan owing to its release there. This is a good watch for your children!

5.The Lego Movie 2 the Second Part

The sequel of Lego The movie brings back Emmet and Lucy who have been living the good life for five years until they are faced with a huge new threat: Lego Duplo invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than it can be rebuilt. This movie a total entertainer for children and a good activity for the weekend!

5.Kala Shah Kala

A Punjabi film is a small town romance story. The film is about struggles of a dark skinned man who has trouble finding a suitor for himself owing to his skin tone. The role reversal is very interesting and looks like a complete entertaining film if you are into Punjabi films. The film will get better response in Punjab especially small cities. It has done decent business over the extended weekend.

4.Gully Boy

The Simmba boy is back in Zoya Akhtar’s directorial Gully Boy opposite Alia Bhatt. The film tells a story of an underdog who is striving to make it out of his circumstances and make a name for himself. Ranveer Singh has turned into a rapper for the role, and it is definitely really different from his Simmba avatar. The film has been in the lead at the box office and is expected to continue its lead. The film has received great reviews. Simmba is also still running in cinemas however the film has now slowed down.
