This Friday,the holdover local releases films from previous week, will be joined by a new major Hollywood release. While the local releases have taken a slow start at Pakistani box office, we look forward to seeing their box office trending this weekend. The new release, on the other hand, is an action flick from an old franchise which has some brand value in the West but not much to younger generation in Pakistan.

Movie Releasing This Week
Arnold Schwarzenegger is coming back with his Terminator series. The latest installment also stars Linda Hamilton and Mackenzie Davis pivotal roles. According to the by-line of the film Sarah Connor and a hybrid cyborg human must protect a young girl from a newly modified liquid Terminator from the future. The film is a major Hollywood release after Angelina Jolie’s Maleficient: Mistress of Evil. The film currently has 66 % Rotten Tomato. Have a look at the trailer here.

1.Maleficent: Mistress of Evil
Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning starrer Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil released last week and the film has seen quite decent footfalls. The film couldn’t get good reviews from critics but the business being done is good at Pakistani box office. Its Rotten Tomatoes ratings stands at only 41% but if you are into a fan of the franchise, or enjoy drama fantasy film be sure to catch Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil this week.
Joaquin Phoenix starrer has received mixed to positive reviews from critics but it has been extremely well received by cine goers. The film has done roaring business at North American box office and even in Pakistan. If you haven’t seen the film yet, we suggest you go check it out!
Khalil ur Rehman Qamar directorial Kaaf Kanganastars Sami Khan and Eshal Fayyaz in lead roles. The film is a romance action film, in the backdrop of Pakistan Indian tensions. The script is by the ace writer Khalil ur Qamar himself as well so some power packed dialogues were expected from the film. The music of the film is giving off old school filmi vibes. Durj was already been released in international market however in domestic market its release was delayed. After facing temporary ban and opposition from censor board, Shamoon Abbasi starrer Durj is released nationwide on 25 October 2019. The film is made in the backdrop of cannibalism and is inspired by real events. Durj has tapped into a new genre that hasn’t been explored in Pakistani cinema as yet. Besides Shamoon Abbasi, Durj also stars singer Nauman Javed, Sherry Shah and Maira Khan.
