Shamoon Abbasi directorial Durj is wrapping up its run in Pakistan with very poor results. The film’s genre was very tough to pull at the boxoffice and it was always expected to struggle but thanks to the ban on the film it got some eyeballs and buzz. The film got delayed by a week due to ban and opened opposite Kaaf Kangana.
Durj managed a decent start of PKR 1.3 million on day one due to the buzz created by the ban. The film then fell flat over the weekend followed by a crash over the weekdays. Durj had collected around PKR 5 million in first week but the performance over the weekdays had indicated that the film won’t collect much after the opening week.
The film contributed very little amount in second and third weeks and is now out of most cinemas with the aggregate going around PKR 6 million. This number is even less than Daal Chawal which had released earlier in October opposite Joker.
Below is Durj’s estimated breakdown till now in Pakistan.
Week One.. 5 million Week Two.. 0.8 million 3rd Weekend.. 0.2 million Total.. 6 million
