The trailer of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat is out. The trailer opens with Salman Khan’s narration as an old man, he tells the audiences that people may think that the life of an old middle-class man has been dull however little do they know that my life has in fact been more eventful than the amount of grey hair in my head.
He makes his entry and the trailer goes on to show us his colorful youth. He is a daredevil motorcyclist who is accustomed of mingling with girls. The trailer becomes a bit dull and dry as it moves on to show us the second stage in his life, where he is shown seeking a job. He meets Katrina Kaif’s character and we are told that after meeting her, his life felt complete.
Ali Abbas Zafar as always gives us very well shot scenes. Bharat seemingly gets a job as a miner and the trailer goes haywire from here and we see it jump from one stage to another, telling us that a lot will unfold in Bharat’s life however not much makes sense. The pacing of the trailer is slow and the buildup is pretty dry. It fails to hook us and the songs are not memorable either.
Bharat gets stuck underground while mining and is reminded of another tragedy that happened to him while he was a child. He was separated from his parents during partition and it is at this moment, the craving of finding his long lost parents will surge in him.
Perhaps Bharat’s rest of the life will be dedicated to finding his parents as we later see him as a navy officer, sailing from border to border. We also get a glimpse of Wagha Border as perhaps his parents are likely to be in Pakistan.
At this point, we do not get to see any of Taboo’s scenes as she is essaying the role of Bharat’s Pakistani sister and we do not get to see anything related to Pakistan much.
