Both sides experienced different emotions to surprising news this week! Mannat finds out she is pregnant and Shayan and her have a happy moment after a long time together. On the other hand, Shehwar breaks the same news to Yawar but of course this does not come as a good thing for Yawar. Wajih continues stooping to the lowest levels in order to get Mannat to drop the case and his antics continue this episode as well.

Look Out For A Face Off Between Wajih and Mannat

There was repetition once again in the way Wajih is behaving and the lengths he goes to get Mannat to drop the case. We all have mostly been excited for the court scenes to begin but it seems the drama is adamant on extending this for as long as possible. I really think the court scenes should begin already as I found myself losing interest this episode. Wajih locking up Mannat’s mother in the storeroom was such a silly scene in my opinion and didn’t deserve the amount of time this episode dedicated to it. Mannat’s psychological torture has pretty much been established at this point and continuing this is only making it more banal.

While Mannat’s pregnancy was a nice piece of news in the middle of all this darkness, Shehwar’s pregnancy came as a shock in light of last week’s episode and thus was the most interesting thing in the episode. Of course Yawar reacts the way he does because he knows he can’t have children, and starts to suspect Shehwar has been cheating on him. Shehwar of course has proved to be smarter than we thought she would be. Last week after finding out the truth, Shehwar was expected to remain quiet but her breaking the news this episode shows that she is as cunning and calculated as her husband. Her news is obviously intended to trigger Yawar and make him come out with the truth or there might be something darker at play here. Regardless, Shehwar’s development was my favorite part of the episode and I hope this means that she will testify on behalf of Mannat and help her in the case.

Cheekh Episode 16 Review.

Wajih’s character at this point has become annoying and repetitive. I suppose showing him to be so petty and juvenile is part of his character but he really does not deserve to be the central villain of the drama! Bilal Abbas no doubt is doing his best and really seems natural at this role but I think it is the way Wajih has been written that makes him so annoying and hard to watch. Saba Qamar and Emmad Irfani have made their characters lovable, which is more than can be said about the other characters. Haya has started to show some development now but had remained a stagnant character for so long that interest in her is waning already. The drama has done such a great job in forming the main characters but the side characters deserve some more attention too since the actors that play them are some of the most talented people in the industry.

In the end, the episode turned out to be indistinguishable from the previous two and seemed to be repetitive once more. Every fan of the drama is on the edge of their seats, awaiting the court scene and it’s about time that is shown! The makers should finally move forward with the case and give the audience what they have waiting for all along.
