Avengers: Endgame is dominating the cinemas worldwide. The film is loved by cine goers and critics alike. Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans starrer was the second last film in the third phase of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Even though the film is a three hours long treat yet the makers couldn’t fit everything they had initially planned in the script. Talking about Black Widow portrayed by Scarlett Johansson, the makers revealed that she had a completely different story line initially.
Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of the recent mega blockbuster recently revealed in Slate podcast The Gist that they had initially thought of an extremely emotional and different story arc for Black Widow. After Thanos’ snap, one quarter of all the children lose their parents. They had decided that Black Widow should take care of all those children, as it would make a highly emotional scene. However, the idea was later dropped.
Anthony stated, “One thing that we talked about a lot – and I thought was really profound, but it was almost too large of an idea for us to wrangle, but we did try for a while – the idea that one-quarter of all children have no parents”. Joe Further added, “Assuming you started with two parents. So that’s a lot of global orphans. Just the staggering number of that. I believe at one point really early in development, Black Widow was actually leading the organisation in D.C. that was in charge of orphans, basically.”
