After 87 days of its release, Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame has over taken James Cameron’s Avatar to become highest grossing film globally. Avengers: Endgame was skimming close to Avatar for last couple of weeks and was drying up its run few millions short of 2009’s “Avatar”. But Marvel came up with plans that included release of new version of Endgame featuring additional footage.
The plan worked in the favor of giants as into its 13th Weekend Avengers: Endgame edged past the total of Avatar. The current cume of Endgame stands at $ 2.79bn after the closing of 13th Weekend whereas 2009’s blockbuster had collected $ 2.79bn in its lifetime.
Even though Avengers: Endgame is the king of the boxoffice globally but the film is still well short of top position at North American boxoffice. Film’s domestic aggregate tops $ 854m after the end of 13th weekend which is second biggest of all time in North America after Star Wars: The Force Awakens’s $ 936.6m.
