Avengers: Endgame is breaking records globally. Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans starrer has breached another benchmark this Weekend. The film has become the only 4th movie ever to top $ 700m mark in North America. At the same time, the film has also become the 3rd highest grossing film in North America.
As per early estimates, the film dipped 57% in its third Weekend gathering approx $ 63m from North America. This takes films commutative total to around $ 724m in 17 days. The films is now only behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($ 936m) and Avatar ($ 760m). The film will overtake Avatar coming Weekend but looking at current trends it will fall short of Star Wars aggregate in North America.
Globally, the film’s gross now stands at $ 2.48bn. The film is only behind Avatar ($ 2.78bn) and it will be exciting to see if it can top that number or not.
The film also overtook Avengers: Infinity War ($ 678m) and Black Panther ($ 700m) to become highest grossing MCU film in North America. The films third Weekend numbers are fourth biggest of all time behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($ 90m), Avatar ($ 68m) and Black Panther ($ 66m).
