“A mishap happened during the shoot of the film! 90% of my shoot was complete! Almost 90 % of Saba Hameed’s shoot was also completed however a fight ensued between Saba Hameed and the writer of the film. It was supposed to be a 10 days shoot but I gave them 18 days due to an issue.
When Khalil ur Rehman Qamar asked me to give more days, I agreed. However it was to no avail as the fight between Saba Hameed and the writer aggravated after which he let go of Saba Hameed.
Khalil ur Rehman tends to ask for immediate dates, no body is free in this world, I was already booked with Wrong No 2. I told him, I’ll wrap up my work and join him soon after. However, he had something else in mind. He called me up and said, I have nothing against you, you have been with me throughout however if you give me your permission, I would like to replace you as well!” He explained.
“Now what was I suppose to reply? I said ok. Let me tell you actor is the king. An actor can not be replaced”. He added.
“Khalil ur Rehman Qamar re-shot the whole thing with new actors. However, an actor can not be replaced! A director can be replaced. A film can be completed if we appoint a new writer as well however an actor can not be replaced.” He further explained.
He cited Sultan Rahi’s example for this. “There was no other Sultan Rahi after his death. A writer is dependent on director and actor! A writer’s work is lifeless alone, an actor puts life in them!” He emphasized.
“Yes but if a writer’s words are not good enough, an actor will not get a margin to act?” Waseem Badami asked.
“If this was the case, Kaaf Kangana would have been a hit.” Mehmood Aslam concluded.
It is interesting to note that Saba Hameed is currently working on Khalil ul Reham Qamar’s new film London Nahi Jaunga which is being helmed by Nadeem Baig. This development took place after Khalil ur Rehman Qamar apologized to both the veterans Saba Hameed and Mehmood Aslam in Epk’s studios. However it seems like the actors are still harboring resentment for the writer!
