Sunday Drama Reviews: Anaa Vs Romeo Weds Heer

Romeo Weds Heer (Geo Tv) 7th Sky Entertainment

Returning to Romeo and Heer’s honeymoon, Romeo Weds Heer’s episode this Sunday once again repeated the same exact plotlines as before. Having become repetitive has really affected the drama’s overall quality and shows how much there’s a need for it to end as many of the jokes are being recycled as well.

No doubt the actors in the drama are extremely talented: Sana Javed and Feroze Khan have time and again shown that they are a duo to be reckoned with on screen and have become the favorite on-screen couple of this year. But with this drama it has really become tiring as the writing of the show does not do their talents justice.

Every aspect aside from the writing is top notch in Romeo Weds Heer and it’s obvious that it has been a real let-down for every member of the team working on the drama since things like the music score and cinematography are beautiful and well-made! Due credit must be given to the actors and every member of the team working on Romeo Weds Heer for making this drama last as long as it has despite the failure of the humor and writing.

Anaa (Hum Tv) MD Productions

While Romeo Weds Heer suffers from bad writing,  it is the exact opposite for Anaa. The characters of the drama are actually pretty well-developed with multi-dimensional personalities. Characters like Aania and Altamash feel extremely real and larger-than-life and have become sympathetic as well.

However, in stark contrast some characters have become a massive disappointment. For me, Areesh and the change in him this episode made him dislikeable and the way he is treating Aania is so incomparable with the person that had been introduced to us in the beginning of the drama.

Perhaps his changing personality should have been shown more clearly but Areesh barely got any attention in the last few episodes despite being such a major character. And that is where the problem with Anaa sets in; there are so many characters that it is hard to keep track of them or give them enough screen time in the drama.

Hania Amir as Daneen

The scenery of the drama is absolutely stunning and it reflects the characters really well. Once more Altamash and Izza won our hearts as they are gradually becoming fan favorites whereas Daneen showed maturity in this episode which is a nice change from the usual. Overall, Anaa’s direction, cast and cinematography are wonderful but flaws like too many characters and the annoying background score make it slightly less than perfect!

Drama Recommendation: Cheekh & Ranjha Ranjha Kardi Continue To Intensify

Verdict

Anaa seems to be doing pretty well on its own and building a steady following with each episode. All in all , Anaa is beginning to grow on us, we are especially loving the budding romance between Altamash and Izzah. Their story is being led in a very mature way. So for us this Sunday once again Anaa comes on top and we are looking forward to what the show has to offer in the future.
