Will Smith starrer Disney’s live action Aladdin saw it’s domestic and international release this Friday. The film was getting negative reviews pre release from critics and the trade was anticipating four day memorial day weekend around $ 80-85 million.
Disney’s adaption has surprised both the critics and the trade experts back in North America. Firstly, as per Cinemascore, the film has gotten a rating of “A” from first day audiences. Secondly the film has beaten the predictions of Trade experts by leaps and bounds.
The film has closed its four day long Weekend by collecting over $ 112m and registering 5th biggest Memorial Day Weekend of all time and becoming only 8th film ever to top $ 100m over the Memorial Day Weekend.
Furthermore, IMDB score of Aladdin is not bad either rather the film has IMDB rating of 7.4 currently. It looks that despite the criticism by trade and critics the film is getting thumbs up from audiences. And the results of the Aladdin proves once again that its the audiences which decide the fate of a film! The film will be hitting screens across Pakistan on Eid ul Fitr.
