Disney’s Aladdin has done exceedingly well on its opening day in Pakistan. Film released 12 days late in Pakistan and it still raked in a pretty good collection on its opening day. Will Smith starrer has collected $ 198m at its domestic market whereas the film’s Worldwide tally stands at $ 491m in 12 days of its worldwide release.
As per estimates, the film has gathered PKR 6 million on its opening day in Pakistan. This is actually a very strong number as Aladdin was allocated very less number of shows compared to Chhalawa and Wrong No 2. The film did its best business in the metro cities Karachi and Lahore. Even in places like Rwp/Isl, Aladdin did extremely well.
Film’s average occupancies on its opening day have been impressive as cities like Rwp/Isl raked in around PKR 8 lacs on day one from only 13 shows. At few multiplexes, film’s average occupancies were actually better than Chhalawa and Wrong No 2.
The film will definitely see a big surge in numbers today as Eid day two is the biggest day of the year at the boxoffice. The film is looking to hit a target of 10 million today which if achieved, will be a remarkable result, given the limited number of shows the film has been allotted.
