The much awaited big budget film Zero is releasing this Friday i.e. 21 December 2018. While the promotions are in full swing in India, cinemas are getting geared up for screening in Pakistan. The film stars SRK along with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
The advance bookings have opened in cinemas across Pakistan as the film is expected to get a huge footfall as it has SRK in the lead. In Karachi, the rate of booking seems to be going well in one of the major cinemas, Neuplex DHA Karachi. This cinema holds record for having highest grossing weekend for Jab Harry met Sajal. Since Zero does not have as many shows as Jab Harry met Sajal, it will not be able to beat the later in terms of box office grossing. However in terms of occupancy a full house throughout the weekend can be expected.
SRK films always have record breaking start at Nueplex DHA which is one of the major grossing multiplex in Pakistan. Same is the case of Zero as the bookings are going strong.
The other screens like Atrium mall and Neuplex Rashid Minhas are doing well too, however the Neuplex DHA is getting the major pull and seems to be in the lead. Nueplex Rashid Minhas is the highest grossing multiplex of Karachi which opened this year hence it will be screening the first SRK movie. The booking ratio for Zero is much better than Thugs of Hindustan, even though it had both mega stars Amitabh Bachan and Aamir Khan. The difference in numbers is undoubtedly due to the star power of SRK in Pakistan. Fans especially women go to cinema just for the sake of SRK.
The film is facing some competition as there are three more movie releasing the same weekend including Aquaman. However, it can be anticipated that Zero will do well due to the massive fan following of SRK in Pakistan.
