So here are the best Pakistani films of the last decade which are absolutely a must watch!

1. Bol (2011)

Rave hit film, Bol is credited with bringing a new wave in Pakistani cinema. The film was helmed by the visionary director Shoaib Mansoor. Starring a talented line up of popular actors including Humaima Malik, Iman Ali, Manzar Sehbai, Atif Aslam and Mahira Khan among others, the film raises an important social issue! The social commentary was also highly appreciated by critics in India. Bol is the only film of the last decade, whose dialogues are still remembered today.

2. Waar (2013)

Bilal Lashari’s directorial debut Waar was an unexpected hit in the cinemas! Apart from its mind blowing action sequences, Waar unfolds an engaging story that revolves around Pakistan’s security forces and their fight against terrorism! 3. Na Maloom Afraad 1 & 2 (2014)

Nabeel Quershi’s directed series Na Maloom Afraad 1 & 2 were a joyride! The film offers comedy, adventure and drama! The film stars Fahad Mustafa, Urwa Hocane, Javed Sheikh, Mohsin Abbas Haider among others. The film introduces us to three reckless and struggling souls who are chasing their ambitions and desires. While in the second part they plan a heist!

4. Manto (2015)

Based on the controversial and troubled Indo-Pakistani writer Saadat Hasan Manto and his artistic choices, Sarmad Khoosat’s directorial film Manto received rave reviews. Sarmad Khoosat gave one of the most memorable performances of his life essaying the titular role of Manto in the film.

6. Jawani Phir Nahi Ani (2015)

Nadeem Baig’s adventure comedy film, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani is a blockbuster! The multi-starrer film stars celebrated names such as Humayun Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahmad Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry, Mehwish Hayat and Sohai Ali Abro. The film is about a single man who is a divorce lawyer. He takes his three married friends on a trip to help them escape their wives.

5. Actor In Law (2016)

Fawad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat starrer Actor in Law is an entertainer with a social message! This was also late Indian actor Om Puri’s first and last Pakistani film. Nadeel Quershi’s directorial was a hit. The film is based on the life of a young lawyer with a flair for dramatics! His life turns upside down when he takes up a case that leaves the country shaken.

8. Punjab Nahi Jaungi (2017)

Punjab Nahi Jaungi, is a 2017 Pakistani romantic comedy film directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar. It stars Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat and Urwa Hocane in lead roles. The story is about a love triangle, between the lead characters.

7. Teefa In Trouble (2018)

Ali Zafar and Maya Ali starrer Teefa In Trouble was 2018’s blockbuster! The film’s music was also highly appreciated. Teefa In Trouble is a roller coaster of entertainment! The film revolves around Teefa who is hired to kidnap a woman for an arranged marriage however Teefa falls in love with the woman.

The politics based comedy film, The Donkey King has seen been released in 9 different countries and it has seen massive success in Pakistan!

10. Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 (2018)

Starring the adored star cast of its previous installment and some new faces, JPNA 2 is still the highest grossing film in Pakistan! The story continues from where it last ended. Following the death of his wife Marina in the previous film, Sherry falls in love with another girl, Celina, but learns that she is engaged to someone else in Dubai. The cast includes Humayun Saeed, Ahmed Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry, Uzma Khan and Sarwat Gillani, Fahad Mustafa, Kubra Khan, and Mawra Hocane.
