As a resolution to one of our favorite dramas of this year comes closer, the writing has become better and better. The way everything is linked together and the plot meshes well into each aspect has made Ranjha Ranjha Kardi the most impressive work of television to date.
This episode although showed Noori to have overcome her internal demons and regained her love and trust in Bhola, there are still problems awaiting her as Fehmida reveals to her that she might give away her baby in exchange for her having not fulfilled the mannat for Bhola. Sahir and Nusrat also continue to exploit Fehmida and for now Noori is unable to stop them.
Everything that can be said about the writing has probably been said, but it still leaves room for more praise every time! Not a single moment in the dialogues is lazy or half-hearted, and you can tell that the writer has put her heart and soul into each word of the drama. It is specially appreciative considering how other dramas competing with Ranjha Ranjha Kardi don’t have the same depth or wisdom in their core message.
We’re also glad how much screen time Noori is getting because we get to see more of Iqra Aziz’s wonderful acting that has mesmerized every audience member until now. Noori has become our favorite female character because of how strong and resolved she is in her beliefs and these are definitely the type of female characters we want to see more of rather than the typical helpless maiden-in-distress types that every other Pakistani drama keeps repeating.
Characters like Noori are important for everyone, but especially young girls watching television. Iqra Aziz and her character have set a high precedent for other dramas that have lazy writing when it comes to their female leads. Combined with the strength of the always-lovable Bhola played by Imran Ashraf, this is a duo that has shown itself to be unstoppable! Suffice to say, the team of Iqra Aziz and Imran Ashraf has proven themselves to be one of the most dynamic duos of our time.
So many of the intricacies of the plot are starting to make sense and wrapping up, so it’s expected that next episode will give us the final resolution to everything. While I’m certainly excited for the ending, there still is something bittersweet about watching Ranjha Ranjha Kardi end. It will be hard to part ways with a drama that has outdone most dramas and has kept us entertained for a few months, but the ingenuity of a good drama lies in knowing when to bow out. Ranjha Ranjha Kardi with his good writing, captivating direction and brilliant performances deserves all of the awards of this season!
