Us News College Rankings:One of the most popular, but unofficially, subjects in the summer reading lists for high school and college children is the U.S. News college rankings, which were released today. I bet the younger and older read this list than “The Catcher in the Rye” or “To Kill a Mockingbird.” There are not many surprises: Harvard, Princeton and Yale Sat first in the list of universities and Williams, Amherst and Swarthmore College, led the rating.
List of U.S. News and other rankings, such as the Princeton Review also provide students and alumni to talk about. I am sure that all of New Haven believed that the list is not so, and students who pass the statue of John Harvard every day, will not change anything. (And I am appalled that the ranking criteria to put my alma mater, Wesleyan University in a tie for number 12 among the colleges. Go Wes!)
In Maryland, the good news is that the University of Maryland, Baltimore County was on top of “U.S. News” promising “list, and the flagship of the College Park campus was 20th on the list.
