Tsunami Warning For Hawaii,Chile Earthquake :Hawaii tsunami warning, Hawaii evacuation zones & Robinson Crusoe islands. After a devastating earthquake hit Chile, the officials have issued tsunami warning for Hawaii. Besides, Calif. coast, Alaskan islands has been put under advisory.
Since the surfacing of this news the island has girded up to face the serious situation.
According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, incoming waves from Chile could lash out the coastlines across the island chain. The warning is for other cities including Guam, American Samoa and dozens of other Pacific islands also.
Weathermen have forecast that the Hawaii may be hit by the waves. The first waves were expected to arrive in Hawaii.
To combat the situation the government had decided to sound warning sirens in case tsunami comes. Residents have been informed about it. Shelly Ichishita, spokeswoman for state civil defense, said that even tourists have been told about it.
California and an Alaskan coastal area from Kodiak to Attu islands are also prepared to face the situation.
Some 53 nations and territories come under Hawaii.
Charles McCreery, director of a center, said: “The main thing is we want everyone to take this event seriously.”
McCreery further added that he and others had no idea how big the waves will be.
People in coastal areas have been alerted. “If you’re in an evacuation zone, police or civil defense volunteers would instruct you to evacuate, or instructions will come out over the radio and TV,” she said.
