2nd February Saturday 2019 dramas
This week’s episodes of Khud Parast, Ranjha Ranjha Kardi and Cheekh were equally exciting as before! The makers of these dramas honestly keep outdoing themselves every time and should be appreciated for the excellent quality of entertainment they have been offering. So let’s get right into what happened this week in these episodes!

This time the writers decided to slow the pace down and give
the characters some time to mull over their life choices. It was a
comparatively slower episode but seeing as how every other episode has been so
fast-paced and hectic, this one was a
breath of fresh air and very well executed. Uswa sadly loses her baby in a
miscarriage but doesn’t show any emotion at this loss. In contrast, Hannan
refuses to believe all the bad things that keep piling onto him. Hannan and
Beenish still are with Hannan’s phuppo who tries to aid them in their recovery.
This episode certainly was slower than every other we have seen, but I thought
it was a strategic change in pace and gave the audience a nice breather before
returning to the havoc that Uswa has brought about in everyone’s lives. It also
showed a wider range in the actors, and their talent is quite visible in such

Can this drama ever go wrong? Not any time soon, it seems! Once again we got a heartfelt and melancholic episode with beautiful acting. Noori and Bhola’s relationship is developed further; although initially Noori is hesitant and even repulsed by Bhola’s very presence, by the end of the episode she agrees to attempt to understand the situation of her new husband. Rizwana’s arc was a bit tedious and I didn’t find it that interesting but it was linked back to Noori and how Amma Janat still did not trust Noori and finally served a greater purpose to the storyline. The way the numerous pieces of the story are linked together is masterful, and due credit must be given to the writer for not only creating such a well-structured story but also in creating characters that will remain memorable.
Cheekh (ARY) Big Bang Entertainment
The drama finally
picked up pace and we are certainly excited about it! With all eyes on him,
Wajih manages to put on a smooth and unbothered facade despite the allegations
against him. His brother Yawar assures him of his undying support and so does
the rest of the family. The only exception is Mannat and here is where things
get interesting. Mannat is shown to be torn between having her family’s back
and seeking out justice for her best friend. As evidence against Wajih keeps
piling up with eyewitnesses and statements, Mannat starts becoming doubtful.
But then again, the point that there are actually two ‘Rajas’ in this house is
confusing. Such small clues have confused all of us and we really are curious
now as to who did it. Mannat’s divided mind of shown brilliantly and her
struggle is also reflected well.
This is perhaps the most difficult decision since all three
of these dramas have won a place in our hearts in a matter of days. Cheekh is
definitely on the top by a close margin, with a gripping storyline and each
episode leaving us wanting to know more. Khud Parast and Ranjha Ranjha Kardi
have also proved that they are worthy contenders and definitely have the factor
that makes us so addicted to them.
