Guam Earthquake: Magnitude 7.2 Quake Strikes Pacific Mariana Islands
The Mariana Islands quake’s epicenter was located 233 miles W-SW Of Hagatna, Guam and roughly 276 miles W-SW of Rota. The temblor had a depth of 2.9 miles.
As strong as a 7.2 magnitude earthquake is, it’s amazing a Tsunami was not generated. What I find fascinating is people slept through it! So often quakes of a smaller magnitude have been devastating, injuring, killing, maiming and destruction has been so rampant that I, for one, am grateful this one was barely noticed.
