Apple CEO Tim Cook has announced the hardware that the iPhone 4S will be packing. It will have the same look as iPhone 4 — a Gorilla glass-front, a smooth glass back and an aluminium antenna band that runs along each side. It will also have the same Apple A5 CPU as the iPad 2, which is a dual-core, ARM-based chip, clocking at 1GHz. This should power up 4S largely for streaming multimedia content, running apps and emails. But, it offers no innovation since you have handsets that propose 1.2 and also 1.5GHz dual-core chips.
Cook promised that the iPhone 4S will capture 8-megapixel stills and 1080p video. These have also become a routine with other high-end smartphones. So far, we know that no company comes close to the hardware-software integration that we see on Apple devices.
Even as you wait for iPhone 4S to hit the shelves, you cannot miss the promising line-up of Samsung, BlackBerry and HTC devices that have just been launched.
