Gold Jewelry in Indian Weddings:Feast for your eyes when you attend an Indian wedding. A show of wealth both from the bride and the bridegroom.

In Indian weddings one thing you can be sure is the bride will be decked up with jewelry.

In most cases you will find it will be difficult to get a glimpse of the bride. Whenever you try looking at her all you will be able to see is jewelry. Diamond earrings, diamond nose stud, a dozen gold bangles on both hands, necklaces both in gold and platinum embedded with precious stones such as ruby, jade or pearls. The bridegroom’s family expects the bride to be showcased in the wealth that she is bringing along.

In addition to what she is wearing the bridegroom’s parents, sisters and brothers all decorate her with their own contribution. The clothes she wears is made of strings of silver entwined throughout the sari. In some weddings you can also find the bride wears an ornamental waist belt filled with precious stones and mostly in gold.

The bridegroom generally is in the traditional dress which has either a Kurta and Pajama or a dhoti and a cloth similar to a dhoti worn like a shawl. Only to show the bride’s family and the guests the bridegroom wears a gold ring generally with his initials engraved in it. He also wears a very thin chain fondly known as minor chain made in gold.

Gold and Jewelry shops in India hence keep flourishing creating newer shapes and designs to blend with the tastes of the brides and bridegrooms.
