The Chicago Park District is an ancient place. It is one of the beautiful and comfortable places for the visitors. It is also one of the country’s oldest park districts, covers more than 7,300 acres of parkland, 552 parks and 33 beaches. It has an independent taxing body that is headed by a superintendent who is appointed by the mayor of
Chicago. The mayor also appointed seven commissioners to manage and control the district’s affairs. This district was created in 1934, having nearly 22 independent park districts that ran parks across the city. Today, nine museums, two conservatories, 220 facilities and six golf courses sit on Chicago Park District land. The district is considered a “sister” agency of the district.
Kimberly Priola and the Chicago Park District have some complaints for
planning on the beach. And Park District General Superintendent Timothy Mitchell is very conscious to have the district sign a contract without Reilly…
There is a beautiful lakefront portion of the property to the Chicago Park District. They also said the plans do not include easy,” Tranter said. They called on the park district to instead terrace the land so residents can get easily.
What are the problems it has now? Answer: Chicago Park District General Superintendent Timothy shows carelessness about it. The Park District simply waits until it believes.
Claypool has been criticized against corruption, during his two tours as Mayor’s chief of staff, he do patronage and insider deals
. He attacked patronage and waste as Daley’s hand-picked Chicago Park district’s boss. And he continued to reform the campaign as a Cook County commissioner.
So now we are in 2010, with Berrios, which is apparently headed to November victory over two opponents, one Republican, second Green Party, both probably can’t raise enough money or public interest to really compete and unable to make their status.
Claypool has launched a petition drive to get on the ballot. If he succeeds, voters will have a real choice for it.
Maybe Claypool will make history as the first independent to win a major office in Cook County.
Civic watchdogs like the Better Government Association won’t tell whom to vote for. But we will celebrate a competitive race for a vitally important office. So bring it on.
Maybe it is helpful for them and it will be play to increase their status. There is having some signs for this.
