In episode 21 of Ab Dekh Khuda Kya Karta Hai the love story between Shan-e-Alam (Humayan Ashraf) and Maryam (Sanam Chaudhary) evolved. With beautifully written dialogues and display of some great acting skills, this drama is a treat to watch.
Shan-e-Alam comes to visit Maryam again to make things clear to her after their last meeting. Maryam had thought that after knowing her past Shan wouldn’t want to meet her again ever. But fate had planned something else for her. Shan tells her that he was unable to say anything after hearing her story because he couldn’t comprehend how anyone could bear so much pain. It didn’t matter to him that she was a divorcee. He was sure that kismet had brought them together.
Meanwhile, Jan-e-Alam played by Danish Taimoor is in a state of constant restlessness. He is haunted by his past misdeeds. His hope of revival lies in Malik’s freedom. So when finally Malik is released from jail, he questions him about Maryam’s whereabouts. Malik quickly points out that Jan has freed him for his for his own benefit only.
A playful exchange of words between Shan, Jan and their mother is shown. Since in most Pakistani families elder brothers get married first, Shan is concerned about his brother’s marriage and he discusses this with his mother. Jan is quick to point out that there’s something fishy in Shan’s concern. Finally Shan spills the beans that he is in love with someone. Both brothers’ are unaware that they love the same girl. Will this information change their loving equation in the future?
Shan-e-Alam wants Maryam to meet his mother. Maryam is worried that after knowing her past no mother would want their son to get married to her. It’s nice to see how the writer Syed Ameer Ali is slowly developing Maryam’s feelings for Shan. They don’t go head over heels for each other within one episode like most dramas show nowadays. It makes Maryam’s situation more relatable to a common person who has been in a toxic relation and is struggling to recover from it. Because of her past experiences, Maryam is forced to contemplate Shan’s love for her again and again. It’s hard for her to grasp the concept of true love. How could anyone love someone without demanding for anything in return? She wants to accept Shan-e-Alam from her heart but her bitter past won’t allow her to.
Will Maryam become the reason of feud between Shan-e-Alam and Jan-e-Alam? Will Maryam accept Shan after knowing about his family? To know this tune in to Geo Tv next Tuesday!
