A Day Of Kite Fighters:Basant is the day of kite fighters. It is very important day for all who love to fly kites. It is celebrated all over the Pakistan, India and in some other countries. It comes off in the middle of the February. It is considered the symbol to end winter season. Preparations are made months ago and a large amount is spent on the particular day. On this occasion people get up early in the morning and soon the sky over cast with kites. Kites of different colors and sizes are soon everywhere on the horizon.
When they fly their kites they cry at the top of voice “Bo Kata” when a kite is cut off. Some people use loud speakers and some musical instruments to make their slogans more forceful.
People who cannot afford have their eyes stuck in the sky.
Lahories are very enthusiastic about it. Now they use floodlights and they never miss night even. The people who like to celebrate it they spent most of their money to buy kites etc.
Girls also celebrate this event very heartily. They stitch new special dresses which called basant cloths (Basanti) and enjoy this event with their family and friends.
Often colleges also organized the basant function at night or day time.
So, enjoy this event with care because it is also very dangerous and harmful hobby.
